THE OFFICE OF THE PRESIDENT
OF THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA

Daniel 4:32b
....until thou know that the most High ruleth in the kingdom of men, and giveth it to whomsoever he will. KJV

This article is written to all God fearing people all over the world, although the title states “The Office of The President of the United States of America” that is only because the writers of this article reside in that nation. I am very disturbed by the constant attack upon our government. My wife and I had hoped the barrage of name calling and evil accusations would be mitigated after the election process was over. We thought that the vast majority of people would support a President and Government that was elected by the people with intention to do good for the people. Regretfully, the media and many Christian family members are still failing this test of humility, choosing rather to continue the fight for their own personal rights and opinions. We now concluded one year later our original hopes of unity and peace among the Body of Christ in the land of America were too optimistic. Many think nothing of speaking evil about the leaders of our nation. The thing that troubles us the most is that many of the accusers profess to be Christians. It would seem that if one believes they are a representative of Christ that they would act more becoming to Christ. They would truly represent an ambassador from Heaven. Let us examine the scriptures to see whether such conduct of speaking evil of the leader of a nation, or state, or even a city, is God’s ideal. Many Christians would agree that the Apostle Paul is a true Christian indeed. So Paul what is you opinion of speaking evil of a ruler?

Acts 23:5
Then said Paul, I wist not, brethren, that he was the high priest: for it is written, Thou shalt not speak evil of the ruler of thy people. KJV

In this context the High Priest was not very nice to Paul and actual had Paul hit in the mouth and yet the Apostle Paul still stated it was not permitted for him to speak evil of the ruler of God’s people. Now let us see look at the verse of scripture Paul was quoting in Exodus 22:28

Thou shalt not revile the gods, nor curse the ruler of thy people. KJV

In this passage of scripture we can understand this is not a New Testament concept but rather a part of the Old Testament Law of God. Since the Apostle Paul is a New Testament Christian this principle pasted through the Cross of Jesus right to the New Testament Church. I know someone could argue that I am not cursing the President when I speak about my dislikes but the scriptures paints a different picture according to James 3:9-10

9 Therewith bless we God, even the Father; and therewith curse we men, which are made after the similitude of God.
10 Out of the same mouth proceedeth blessing and cursing. My brethren, these things ought not so to be. KJV

You see, dear beloved of God, if you are not speaking well of the President or those in our government, you are indeed cursing them. Let us keep this simple those who speak well of the Leader of their nation are blessing him (or her). When we pray for the ruler of the nation we are suppose to pray for God’s blessing to come upon them, and then thank God for honoring our prayer. Prayer is a blessing if the one doing the praying speaks the Word of God, not the words of men. We must examine our speech to see if we are speaking good godly words of faith and love or unproductive words of hate and division. Some will say, that my words are neither good or bad, but those who make this claim are deceived because every idle word is considered evil by God.

Matthew 12:35-37
35 A good man out of the good treasure of the heart bringeth forth good things: and an evil man out of the evil treasure bringeth forth evil things.
36 But I say unto you, That every idle word that men shall speak, they shall give account thereof in the day of judgment.
37 For by thy words thou shalt be justified, and by thy words thou shalt be condemned. KJV

And 1 Corinthians 15:33
Be not deceived: evil communications corrupt good manners. KJV

There used to be a saying that, “If you don’t have anything good to say about a person do not say anything at all”. This statement is from God, it is consistent with the lives of Jesus and His true disciples. If you think that I am implying to that you must only say good things about the Leader or government of your nation I am not, but I am saying that you have no Christian right to speak evil of him or them. In the Kingdom of God we are commissioned by our Lord Jesus Christ to go out and preach His Gospel of Peace. If you disagree with what our President (or Government) is doing in their respective office, your Lord has given you an outlet for that. That procedure (outlet) is called prayer, it becomes very obvious to me that those who pray for our leadership in love according to the Word of God have a good heart toward the President of the United States. However, on the contrary those who don’t consistently pray for the well being of the President have no heart for Him or His family, not even His dog. Many people choose not to love because they are either immature or misinformed. This article is sent to all Christians in America for more unity amongst the Believers through continuous biblical education. I firmly believe since we are one family in Christ if you stumble from being a person of discord we all pay some price because your actions may cause the whole team to fall. Since I confess to be a Christian, not a Democrat or Republican, it becomes increasingly difficult to defend those who speak evil about our leaders. If those outside the Body of Christ question this behavior as wrong, how can I as a Believer say that it is not. I know from God’s Word that such behavior is wrong, and unbecoming to a true disciple of Jesus. Although I commonly say to others that such behavior is ungodly those that don’t know God use these comments to mock the operation of God’s Kingdom. So when you think that your harsh statements are only directed at the man Barack Obama you need to realize that negative comments at the President Barack Obama hurt more than one man. As President of a nation you force many Christians to feel the impact of that blow because we all have to deal with the fallout from sowing discord. Some people don’t understand if you talk shamefully about Jesus you are also speaking shamefully about me. This is also true if you speak reproachfully about me as a child of God does not the Lord take it personally?

Matthew 25:40
And the King shall answer and say unto them, Verily I say unto you, Inasmuch as ye have done it unto one of the least of these my brethren, ye have done it unto me. KJV

The Lord hates discord and for that reason alone we should practice being quiet about those in authority, unless you would like to bless them with good words. Notice what the scriptures say about discord and a froward mouth (perverted, twisted, evil speech) to see why we stand against such behavior.

Proverbs 6:16-19
16 These six things doth the LORD hate: yea, seven are an abomination unto him:
17 A proud look, a lying tongue, and hands that shed innocent blood,
18 An heart that deviseth wicked imaginations, feet that be swift in running to mischief,
19 A false witness that speaketh lies, and he that soweth discord among brethren. KJV

And Proverbs 8:13
The fear of the LORD is to hate evil: pride, and arrogancy, and the evil way, and the froward mouth, do I hate. KJV

There is really no good reason to bring up negative things about our ruler because what is the profit of putting someone down or magnifying their faults? The only reason people feel compelled to point out faults and disagreements with our leadership is primarily due to pride. If you just have to say something negative or feel a need to tell others the problems of another you my friend are in pride.

Proverbs 13:10
Only by pride cometh contention: but with the well advised is wisdom. KJV

And Proverbs 28:25
He that is of a proud heart stirreth up strife: but he that putteth his trust in the LORD shall be made fat. KJV

Does not Love Himself cover a multitude of sins? How much more does love operate for people when there is sin present. It would be far better if you think something is wrong with a leader to cover the negative concern with prayer privately then to expose a wrong or misjudgment publicly.

Proverbs 10:11-12
11 The mouth of a righteous man is a well of life: but violence covereth the mouth of the wicked.
12 Hatred stirreth up strifes: but love covereth all sins. KJV

And Romans 12:17-21
17 Never pay back evil for evil to anyone. Do things in such a way that everyone can see you are honorable. 18 Do your part to live in peace with everyone, as much as possible.

19 Dear friends, never avenge yourselves. Leave that to God. For it is written,

"I will take vengeance;
I will repay those who deserve it,"
says the Lord.

20 Instead, do what the Scriptures say:

"If your enemies are hungry, feed them.
If they are thirsty, give them something to drink,
and they will be ashamed of what they have done to you."

21 Don't let evil get the best of you, but conquer evil by doing good. NLT

These verses speak about Christianity not all this negative propaganda about our President and the government we see in the media or vocalized Christianity on Facebook and Twitter. The Proud in America have it set in their heart to voice their opinion of those in our leadership (our President included) but Believers should not follow their path because the road of pride always leads to destruction.

Proverbs 16:18
Pride goeth before destruction, and an haughty spirit before a fall. KJV

The answer to overcome pride is to choose humility that is how we keep our tongue from speaking evil. This is how we are able to pray God’s blessing upon our government.

Proverbs 29:23
A man's pride shall bring him low: but honour shall uphold the humble in spirit. KJV

The proud simply do not realize that when they speak ill of our Leader they are speaking about someone that is involved in our life also. If Angela and I are praying that the Lord would give the President and His Cabinet the wisdom of God and divine guidance, we surely do not desire to hear someone else in the family of God calling our Leader foolish or presumptuous. We are trained to speak our desire, not our opinion, if the President does make a decision that we don’t agree with we simply continue to hold fast to our confession of faith. We speak good words over our President and our Government because we understand the awesome power (authority) of our words. Once we have our speaking inline with God’s Word then we are in a position to pray unto our Heaven Father. The Lord does not delight in His Children calling someone evil that He has called cleansed. The Apostle Peter taught us this lesson in Acts 10:28

And he said to them, You yourselves are aware how it is not lawful or permissible for a Jew to keep company with or to visit or [even] to come near or to speak first to anyone of another nationality, but God has shown and taught me by words that I should not call any human being common or unhallowed or [ceremonially] unclean. AMP

We are not saying that those in authority are not Christians because I believe many of them profess to be Christians, the point being what difference would it make as far as my behavior toward them. As Christians, Angela and I are permitted by God to speak well of those in authority to guarantee that we are not hypocrites who have a private tongue to God and a public tongue for people. Those who practice speaking two separate languages are preaching two separate messages with a forked tongued, a characteristic of the serpent. This is why we mentioned earlier this walk of honor toward our President, His Cabinet and our Government as a whole takes humility before God to see them properly. This brings to mind what the Lord told us about healing our nation in 2 Chronicles 7:14

If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land. KJV

Notice the Lord gives us the remedy for healing America and it all starts with His People. This is why I am speaking to Christians, please in the Name of Jesus, humble yourselves by looking at Jesus, seeking His face by turning from your wicked ways of discord and evil speaking then the multiple sins of Americans could be forgiven and this land could be healed. Many people think that the blessing of America lies in the power of one man, the President of the United States, but Believers should know better. If your faith is in Christ Jesus because our God is alive and well on the throne of the universe can’t He take care of this nation, if we humble ourselves and let Him do it? When the Lord comes back for His Holy Church will He find some faith from His Church in the earth? I expect those that don’t know God to be ungodly, for they are unlearned and unfaithful to His Calling but if Christians act the same way, who are they really representing? I surmise that they are representing men which means they are representing the ungodly because those who represent God submit to God’s Word just like Jesus and His Apostles. Notice what the Apostle Paul stated about those in our government here in America and other nations abroad.

Romans 13:1-4
1 Let every soul be subject unto the higher powers. For there is no power but of God: the powers that be are ordained of God.
2 Whosoever therefore resisteth the power, resisteth the ordinance of God: and they that resist shall receive to themselves damnation.
3 For rulers are not a terror to good works, but to the evil. Wilt thou then not be afraid of the power? do that which is good, and thou shalt have praise of the same:
4 For he is the minister of God to thee for good. But if thou do that which is evil, be afraid; for he beareth not the sword in vain: for he is the minister of God, a revenger to execute wrath upon him that doeth evil. KJV

Notice the Apostle Paul starts by speaking to every soul. Yes, this is everyone who is under a certain government, Christians included, not only Americans but all Christians who live in America. If you are a citizen of the United States of America you are commanded by the Word of God to be subject unto higher powers because the offices of the government are ordained (ordered) of God. This means that we can trust God to keep the Government He ordained if we would look for Him to do it. Does that mean we will agree with everything they are doing, absolutely not. Does that mean that they will all be godly, definitely not. However, it does mean that we can keep our eyes on the Greater One to keep us in the midst of a crooked and preserve nation. We firmly believe that Our Greater God is more than able to keep the Government within certain limitations here in America and other nations abroad if the Believers of that nation will humble themselves and seek His face by turning away from their wicked ways.

Zechariah 8:14-17
14 For thus saith the LORD of hosts; As I thought to punish you, when your fathers provoked me to wrath, saith the LORD of hosts, and I repented not:
15 So again have I thought in these days to do well unto Jerusalem and to the house of Judah: fear ye not.
16 These are the things that ye shall do; Speak ye every man the truth to his neighbour; execute the judgment of truth and peace in your gates:
17 And let none of you imagine evil in your hearts against his neighbour; and love no false oath: for all these are things that I hate, saith the LORD. KJV

Notice that the Lord has a plan to do good unto nations but He needs our corporation. We need to speak truth to our neighbors, we need to execute the judgment of truth and peace in our gates. This is not teaching us to preach at those in authority it clearly states our neighbor. We are told not to imagine evil in our hearts this would speak to all those who think our leader is an ungodly person, are you not showing yourself to be ungodly by such words? Remember God’s Love believes the best of every person because its hopes are fadeless according to 1 Corinthians 13:7

Love bears up under anything and everything that comes, is ever ready to believe the best of every person, its hopes are fadeless under all circumstances, and it endures everything [without weakening]. AMP

Historically God has always thought to do good onto nations because He deeply loves all people, not just His own. The Lord can do it right now here in the United States of America if we would use the Faith of God to speak righteousness into existence in our land. The key is not the man over the nation, nor the many men in the government but rather the Man, Christ Jesus and our Heavenly Father. These verses of scripture in Romans 13:1-4 can not be taken lightly because verse 2 states whoever resists those in authority over us resists God’s system and all those who resist (no exceptions) shall receive damnation. We could say all those who speak evil of our President and our Government will bring God’s judgment upon themselves. Be caution my brethren about speaking curses upon your leader because you could invoke a curse upon yourself or even worst a family member due to your big mouth. This happened with Korah, Dathan and Abiram when they choose to stand against Moses, trying to divide the Children of Israel in Numbers 16:1-32. Oh, there was a division but Korah, Dathan and Abiram were the ones on the wrong side of God. The error in their judgment cost all their family members their life. Notice the result of their decision:

Numbers 16:23-33
23 And the LORD spake unto Moses, saying,
24 Speak unto the congregation, saying, Get you up from about the tabernacle of Korah, Dathan, and Abiram.
25 And Moses rose up and went unto Dathan and Abiram; and the elders of Israel followed him.
26 And he spake unto the congregation, saying, Depart, I pray you, from the tents of these wicked men, and touch nothing of theirs, lest ye be consumed in all their sins.
27 So they gat up from the tabernacle of Korah, Dathan, and Abiram, on every side: and Dathan and Abiram came out, and stood in the door of their tents, and their wives, and their sons, and their little children.
28 And Moses said, Hereby ye shall know that the LORD hath sent me to do all these works; for I have not done them of mine own mind.
29 If these men die the common death of all men, or if they be visited after the visitation of all men; then the LORD hath not sent me.
30 But if the LORD make a new thing, and the earth open her mouth, and swallow them up, with all that appertain unto them, and they go down quick into the pit; then ye shall understand that these men have provoked the LORD.
31 And it came to pass, as he had made an end of speaking all these words, that the ground clave asunder that was under them:
32 And the earth opened her mouth, and swallowed them up, and their houses, and all the men that appertained unto Korah, and all their goods.
33 They, and all that appertained to them, went down alive into the pit, and the earth closed upon them: and they perished from among the congregation. KJV

I know this is a sobering story about some of the children of Israel but we Christians need to be sober. In today’s society there is far too much joking about the President of the United States and our Government. It seems that many people don’t know that when they speak lightly of the people in the leadership offices you are mocking God’s system of authority held by those offices. Some think that because it is a joke or just done in fun we, Christians, should not take it seriously. Sadly even some Believers think other Christians should just loosen up a little and not be so uptight. This type of disrespectful behavior is typically referred to as foolish talking, jesting and/or mocking. If you speak in a joking manner about others this is called jesting in the King James Version of the Holy Bible, so we will examine the New Living Translation for this same word.

Ephesians 5:3-9
3 Let there be no sexual immorality, impurity, or greed among you. Such sins have no place among God's people. 4 Obscene stories, foolish talk, and coarse jokes — these are not for you. Instead, let there be thankfulness to God. 5 You can be sure that no immoral, impure, or greedy person will inherit the Kingdom of Christ and of God. For a greedy person is really an idolater who worships the things of this world. 6 Don't be fooled by those who try to excuse these sins, for the terrible anger of God comes upon all those who disobey him. 7 Don't participate in the things these people do. 8 For though your hearts were once full of darkness, now you are full of light from the Lord, and your behavior should show it! NLT

Notice what the sins of verse 4 have in common, they are all sins of the mouth. This verse of scripture is basically cautioning us about running our mouths too much. The statement, “these are not for you” is easy to understand if you have an honest and open heart. The Word does provide us with a solution which is giving thanks to God because the Lord knows the answer to complaining about men is being thankful to God. Clearly we can see in verse 6 that the Lord knew there would be those who would take these things of God very lightly. However, notice that their attitude of disrespect does not stop God’s anger (His disapproval) of their actions and words. Late night TV and some political programs make a mockery of our President and members in the Government thinking that is more profitable to get high rating on TV and money from the networks than God’s approval. However all Christians know the day will come that every man will give an account of their deeds upon the earth. Let us see what the Word of God thinks about such mockers.

Jude 17-19
17 But, beloved, remember ye the words which were spoken before of the apostles of our Lord Jesus Christ;
18 How that they told you there should be mockers in the last time, who should walk after their own ungodly lusts.
19 These be they who separate themselves, sensual, having not the Spirit. KJV

The word “mock” has several definitions one of the definitions means to, “to imitate or to mimick” another meaning of this word is, “to laugh at; ridicule or treat with scorn or contempt”. This is why the Lord and His Apostle spoke against such behavior, we are told not to do this to any person. If this type of conversation is condemned by our Christian leaders for any person how much less should it be done involving one of our rulers? We should never think that joking or mocking another person (whom Christ died) for the sake of a laugh is acceptable before God because according to God’s Word it is not. There are always some people out there who think that this does not represent them because they feel that they would not speak evil of God’s Leader but the sentence of guilty is based upon their own words. In fact, if you have any knowledge of God’s Ways you will know that the anointing of God is upon the Prophet, the Priest, the King and certain people called to carry out His Will this divine benefit is no different today. The Lord still allows people to be in positions of influence and since He has allowed them this privilege His Holy Spirit and His Holy Word will deal with that individual according to godliness. Thus, they are the Lord’s Anointed while they are in that office. So when you choose to speak evil of your very own leader you are by your own admission speaking evil of God.

Yes, saith the Lord, you can not speak evil of Me and expect My Blessings to flow freely to you. All those who speak evil to My Servants are directly voicing their disapproval of My Ways and the Offices of Authority that I have ordained in the earth. These things ought not so to be, My Children.

An example of this is in Acts 12:21-23

21 And upon a set day Herod, arrayed in royal apparel, sat upon his throne, and made an oration unto them.
22 And the people gave a shout, saying, It is the voice of a god, and not of a man.
23 And immediately the angel of the Lord smote him, because he gave not God the glory: and he was eaten of worms, and gave up the ghost. KJV

Notice first that Herod did not confess to be a Christian and yet God was still helping Herod to minister to the people. Herod was ministering under an anointing from God according this scripture. You may not like to acknowledge that God is bigger than Christianity but He is because before Jesus even came to the earth as a man God was still involved with the affairs of nations. Yes, the Lord helps our leaders as much as He can because they are ruling over us. The only thing God ask us to do as Christians is use our spoken words to give Him more place, thus prayer, as opposed to using our words to tear down and discredit, thus division. We can also see from these scriptures that the fate of the King was in God’s Hand, not mans. For when the King did something very evil did not the Lord take judgment of the King into His own Hands? God does not judge by committee He assuredly judges according to His Own Word and this is always done according to His spiritual assessment of the situation, not man’s opinion of the person. I wish we Christians would put more faith in God, and less confidence in men but I know that would require Godly humility which is lacking during these last days. Since we are talking about God’s Judgment involving the Ruler of a nation let us look at another example when those in a lesser position spoke out publicly against a Leader in Numbers 12:1-11.

1 And Miriam and Aaron spake against Moses because of the Ethiopian woman whom he had married: for he had married an Ethiopian woman.
2 And they said, Hath the LORD indeed spoken only by Moses? hath he not spoken also by us? And the LORD heard it.
3(Now the man Moses was very meek, above all the men which were upon the face of the earth.)
4 And the LORD spake suddenly unto Moses, and unto Aaron, and unto Miriam, Come out ye three unto the tabernacle of the congregation. And they three came out.
5 And the LORD came down in the pillar of the cloud, and stood in the door of the tabernacle, and called Aaron and Miriam: and they both came forth.
6 And he said, Hear now my words: If there be a prophet among you, I the LORD will make myself known unto him in a vision, and will speak unto him in a dream.
7 My servant Moses is not so, who is faithful in all mine house.
8 With him will I speak mouth to mouth, even apparently, and not in dark speeches; and the similitude of the LORD shall he behold: wherefore then were ye not afraid to speak against my servant Moses?
9 And the anger of the LORD was kindled against them; and he departed.
10 And the cloud departed from off the tabernacle; and, behold, Miriam became leprous, white as snow: and Aaron looked upon Miriam, and, behold, she was leprous.
11 And Aaron said unto Moses, Alas, my lord, I beseech thee, lay not the sin upon us, wherein we have done foolishly, and wherein we have sinned. KJV

First, we will comment that they were upset because of an issue with someone from another race or we could say nation. Well how fitting is this, I guess there is nothing new under the sun or should we said, there is nothing new under the Son of God. Some people are always going to have a problem with those of another race or nation. The perpetrators may say that they are not prejudice but the reality is that this wickedness is present in the earth today, yes even in America. Prejudice is in the world today because of the curse after the fall of man which means the majority of men upon the earth will be inclined to think evil of someone different than them. The word “prejudice” comes from the prefix of “pre” coupled with “judge”. Those who are prejudice simply practice prejudging people based upon their opinion or previous experiences with people of that similar background. If race is the key issue the term “racism” will be used to promote a superior race. If social status is the key then certain people will be disliked because of their financial status or family. Whatever the case may be it is non-Christ like, for the Lord loves all people upon the face of earth and has helped all those who have reached out for His Hand of Grace and Mercy. Notice in this story with Mose’s wife being an Ethiopian woman was not a problem with God, but two of the people of God thought that they were speaking on God’s behalf. They surmised that it was unrighteous for one of the Jewish leaders to marry someone outside their own nation. However, even back then God was showing His People that He is no respecter of persons and that those who fear Him are accepted by Him. Therefore, as a Christian, it does not surprise me that this still continues today but I don’t think that it is profitable or wise to focus on race in politics or Christianity. Typically, the issue of race, gender or social status only seems to cause more damage than good because the devil loves to divide people while the Lord tries to bring us back together. Here again when the media and certain analyst go down this path please, fellow Christian, do not follow them. We can see from the scripture of Numbers 12:11 that the accusers attitudes were foolish and their actual actions were sin. The Lord did not take long to response to this problem, therefore we know that God is very clear and decisive about one-prejudice and two-speaking evil about those in authority. Miriam and Aaron did not realize that when they were questioning Moses selection for his wife they were questioning God’s decision for their leadership. Notice in verse 8 the Lord said, “were ye not afraid to speak against my servant Moses?” The Lord is still asking this question today, “Why are His Children not afraid to speak evil about His appointed leaders?” If we as Christians don’t show any “Fear of the Lord” when it comes to respecting His Offices how can those who are unsaved learn godliness. Why is it that some Christians believe that they can live like the world and remain totally isolated from the judgments upon the world. Angela and I really don’t get it, Lord, how those who are born of your Holy Spirit can grieve your Holy Spirit by speaking evil of others and not even know that it bothers you. Dear Lord Jesus, we hope that with teachings like these your people who need to understand these important truths will have an opportunity to learn more about Your Love as they grow in the revelation and knowledge of You. Heavenly Father, please help all your children to be humble enough to realize that we know very little when it comes to the affairs of the heart inside another. The message is clear and concise don’t speak evil of your ruler(s). Practice speaking well of those in authority over you lest you be judged by God for your sins. As Christians we don’t have to act foolish, this is typically something you decide during the coarse of a day. Be wise and make the heart of our Heavenly Father rejoice.

Proverbs 23:15
My son, if thine heart be wise, my heart shall rejoice, even mine. KJV

Now that we have seen two examples of the Judgment of God it is clear that God does have some involvement with the nations of this world, especially those that have influence over His People. Since the gravity of this moment instills some Fear of God in the sense of respecting God’s minister let us go back to Romans 13:5-7 where the Apostle Paul continues his teaching on Government 101 for Christians.

5 Wherefore ye must needs be subject, not only for wrath, but also for conscience sake.
6 For for this cause pay ye tribute also: for they are God's ministers, attending continually upon this very thing.
7 Render therefore to all their dues: tribute to whom tribute is due; custom to whom custom; fear to whom fear; honour to whom honour. KJV

The Word of God reemphasizes the point that we (all Christians and all people) need to be subject to (submitted to) our President and our Government in order to have a clear conscience before God. Why, because if we choose to be rebellious to God’s order how can we have a clear conscience as a submitted Christian unto God. Remember the Apostle Paul was very well acquainted with various governments in his day and none of them recorded in the Holy Bible were confessed Christian governments. Therefore the Apostle Paul was writing this epistle in an environment much like we would face today and yet he still states that we need to be subject to our rulers and that they are God’s ministers. Jesus submitted to things He did not agree with even unto His death, simply because He counted Him (His Father, God) faithful in the keeping of His Soul. Oh, I wish to God, we could learn from His example, the people of Jesus day also desired for Jesus to hold protest rallies but He just would not do it. Why, because it is ungodly and since Jesus is the first and purest Christian He left us the perfect example of what it is like to be like His Father God.

Matthew 12:18-21

18 "Look at my Servant,
whom I have chosen.
He is my Beloved,
and I am very pleased with him.
I will put my Spirit upon him,
and he will proclaim justice to the nations.
19 He will not fight or shout;
he will not raise his voice in public.

20 He will not crush those who are weak,
or quench the smallest hope,
until he brings full justice with his final victory.
21 And his name will be the hope
of all the world." NLT

Jesus was not one to hold public demonstrations to attack things that He didn’t like. If our Lord and Leader did not speak out against those in authority why should we? I’m sure Jesus knew that things were wrong in His current government but His purpose was to preach the gospel and set people free, not straighten out the government and rulers of the day. Although Jesus spoke against the ways of the world’s system He did not personally target the King, the Governor or certain public officials. In the days of Jesus people got it wrong also by trying to make Jesus their physical king but the Lord would not allow it. Jesus knew that people should not put their trust in man but rather the God who moves on the heart of men.

John 6:15
When Jesus therefore perceived that they would come and take him by force, to make him a king, he departed again into a mountain himself alone. KJV

Jesus was not seeking a public office nor was He seeking to tear down the established government of the day. No He chose to use wisdom, He departed from the people who delighted in forcing people to do their own will. Yes, this includes those who freely speak divisively about what the government ought to do and those who constantly preach what they would do if they were in that office. Jesus did not just depart from them to get around other Christians for gossip, no, He rather got alone to a mountain. However, I firmly believe He was not alone but rather fellowshipping with His Heavenly Father in prayer by having an intimate conversation with the Master of Universe. We can see in Romans 13:6 that the scriptures refer to the people in these high offices as “ministers of God”. You might not agree with Angela and I as a Christian but it is hard for you to publicly disagree with God’s Word and call yourself a doer of God’s Word. This is exactly why verse 7 states for us to "fear to whom fear" (meaning respect to whom respect is due) and honor to whom honor is due. The Office of the President of the United States of America is a very high office worthy of our respect and honor. However, if you truly believe that as an American you must also believe the person who stands in that office should be treated with a certain amount of honor (dignity) and respect while they are in that office. Frankly, whether you believe the President is a Christian or non-Christian as a Christian you must show him his due honor to fulfill this verse of scripture. Now if you choose to be dishonorable it will be better for you to do it without wearing the title of a Christian because when you act ungodly you are not representing Christ Jesus. In America we wear the bracelet “What would Jesus Do?” but when it comes time to put up or shut up, many Christians choose to do neither. They show behavior contrary to Christ and they also refuse to be quiet about the things they dislike. For clarification of that statement let us continue to look at the teaching of the Apostle Paul.

Romans 13:8-10
8 Owe no man any thing, but to love one another: for he that loveth another hath fulfilled the law.
9 For this, Thou shalt not commit adultery, Thou shalt not kill, Thou shalt not steal, Thou shalt not bear false witness, Thou shalt not covet; and if there be any other commandment, it is briefly comprehended in this saying, namely, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself.
10 Love worketh no ill to his neighbour: therefore love is the fulfilling of the law. KJV

It is amazing to me how many people in the world know the Golden Rule because most major religions of the world today include it in some shape, form or fashion but do not practice it as a part of their daily life. As Christians we are again commanded to love. We don’t owe the President or our Government rebuke or criticism but we do owe them God’s Love. Yes I will say that again you owe them God’s Love. Yes, you Christian, Believer, Saint of God owe him God’s Love. People who can not see that they ought to Love Barack Obama as the President of the United States of America after reading this article are choosing to be blind. Do you not know that the blind shall fall into the ditch unless they are willing to be lead by God’s Light of Jesus. If you can not see God’s face in the light of other people I truly wonder if you are saved. It is very easy to say I love all people like God but it is another thing altogether different to show this love by your actions (and words) toward the other people that are different from you. Yes, my dear fellow Christian Angela and I love President George W. Bush and we also love President Barack Obama. We are not ashamed to be in love with these people, we do believe this compassion to be inherited from Jesus Christ. Angela and I will take this admonishment one step further by stating, “we love all their family members also”. Yes, Angela and I love all those in our government. We should extend God’s Love toward them even when they don’t think (or believe) like we do! We believe this love toward all men upon the earth to be our calling while on God’s earth. We love them because God loves them so much that He Gave them Jesus so that they would be saved. Angela and I prayed for President Bush Jr. and Senior and we pray for President Barack Obama simply because our heart’s desire is for him and the nation to do well. Them doing well may lead to a more quiet and more peaceable life for someone else. If this happens on a large scale it will allow the blessings of God to flow unto the whole nation and other nations abroad. I know some will say that God has nothing to do with the President or our Government but those that make this claim obviously don’t know how much God helps people. To make a blanket statement that God is only helping (blessing) a select few religious people sounds exactly like the argument of the Sadducees and Pharisees who claimed that God was limited to just their branch of religion. This argument was abolished in Christ, the veil was torn and the entrance into God Presence was made open for whosoever would enter in. If someone calls themselves a Christian we should rejoice in that statement because if they are in Christ Jesus they can do nothing good without God according to John 15:5

I am the vine, ye are the branches: He that abideth in me, and I in him, the same bringeth forth much fruit: for without me ye can do nothing. KJV

So all Christian can only survive in the vine of Jesus Christ, therefore when one confesses to be apart of that vine we can at least believe them to be one of our family members. Remember Jesus is not trying to kick people out of His Family so why should we. Whether one is inside our family or outside we should love them just like Jesus loves us. This does not mean that the Father always agrees with our decisions but He always supports us as His Children and loves us tenderly as He loves Jesus Christ. The problem we have here in America is that the negative reciprocal of that truth in John 15:5 is also true, which means we can do a lot of bad things without Him. The Lord will permit you to speak ill advisedly about others if you choose to be ungodly, but guaranteed it will cost you something right now and/or something in the future. Simply put, all those who choose to judge other people will be judged by God’s Word in due season.

Matthew 5:21-22
21 Ye have heard that it was said by them of old time, Thou shalt not kill; and whosoever shall kill shall be in danger of the judgment:
22 But I say unto you, That whosoever is angry with his brother without a cause shall be in danger of the judgment: and whosoever shall say to his brother, Raca, shall be in danger of the council: but whosoever shall say, Thou fool, shall be in danger of hell fire. KJV

These are the words of the Master, our Savior and Lord, Jesus Christ, the Wonderful. He told us personally not to practice anger toward others. Yes, this applies directly to those who say they are upset about certain individuals in government including the President. The word “Raca” by one definition means “Vain Fellow” which translates in our vernacular to be arrogant, and/or conceited. This term is commonly used by many people to describe certain people in Government today. Perhaps you have heard these words yourself to describe a person in authority. We can clearly see those who do such things are ungodly, they are not submitted to God’s Word so it stands to reason that they are not submitted unto God’s Holy Spirit. This same verse goes on to say, “we shall never call our appointed leader a fool”. How many Republicans say that certain Democrats are fools and vice-versa, how many Democrats argue that many Republicans are fools. All those who do such things are in danger of hell’s fire because the moment you think it is acceptable to speak evil of others you have taken a stance away from God. Thus, you start travailing down this wrong road of sin and the farther you go the closer you are to hell. This is not to be taken lightly, no my friend, this message is quite sobering. For this reason Angela and I completely (wholehearted) confess to be born-again Christians, therefore this public confession of Christ Jesus as our Lord prohibits us from completely adopting the beliefs of all Republicans or Democrats. We firmly believe that we should love all people equally because we know God does. If a political party firmly believes that all Christian’s are confined to their group this political party is opposing God’s Word. Thus, they are not submitting to God’s Word, nor His authority figures which brings God’s judgment upon their political party and possibly even their own life. Don’t think for one moment that any people group can preach division and strife and live a long and prosperous life. Angela and I have seen God’s Love upon people no matter what the political affiliation. In the ministry of Jesus didn’t He minister to Pharisees, Jews and some Gentile alike? Indeed yes, why because He loves them all so much, the Lord loves people over political parties I hope we are mature enough as the Body of Christ to do the same in Jesus Name. Dear Friend we hope and pray that you are not one of those who speaks evil of our President or our Government. However, if so, simple repentance from evil doing before God is all that is necessary for a clean heart in Christ Jesus according to 1 John 1:9

If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. KJV

A change in heart does not have to take four years like a change in our Presidency but only a moment in time, by the time you would of completed this prayer the cleansing of your heart would of already taken place. Please repeat after us if you have some conviction in your thoughts that you need to make an attitude adjustment in your heart because you confess to be a Child of God’s Love.

Dear Heavenly Father, I do love you and I love all people just like you love Me. I am not perfect but I will do better to speak well of those in authority. I confess my sin of evil speaking and sowing discord and I repent of such behavior. Now Loving Father help me to keep my tongue from speaking evil by filling me with your good words of life and peace in Jesus Name. Amen!

I sure hope that you feel better inside because you are now as clean as new fallen snow. I sure am happy that we have had this fellowship together because now I know that you will join us in this timeless prayer for our nation:

Dear Father God, please bless the President of the United States of America by giving Him wisdom and grace. Please show Him and His Cabinet your will to help lead this nation into your righteousness and favor. Help our congress to pass godly laws and bills, and frustrate all evil intentions that purpose to do harm against this nation or your people, this we pray in the mighty Name of Jesus. Thank You Lord for healing this Land of America as we humble ourselves to see your salvation across this land and spread abroad to all nations of the earth in Jesus Name.

In His Love, Eric & Angela Foster
